2 Thessalonians 3:1-5
1 Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you, 2 and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. For not all have faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one. 4 And we have confidence in the Lord about you, that you are doing and will do the things that we command. 5 May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.
We are in a spiritual battle, but we are not fighting the battle alone. God is with us and for us, and that is the hope and comfort that we need to rely upon. In verse 3 Paul says, "the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one". This is important to remember when we feel defeated or hopeless. Our ultimate victory does not reside only on our own strength. If that was true we would indeed be defeated by "the evil one". But we have a great and mighty God who is on our side, both protecting us and giving us strength to fight the good fight. Even when we falter, God is faithful. Let's tap into that spiritual strength as we do battle.
Lord, thank you for fighting for me.
