Hosea 3:1
1 And the Lord said to me, “Go again, love a woman who is loved by another man and is an adulteress, even as the Lord loves the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love cakes of raisins.”
God uses the marriage of Hosea to Gomer as a symbol of His love for us. For Gomer was unfaithful, just as Israel was unfaithful, and just as we are unfaithful. But God still loves us, and told Hosea to love Gomer as a sign of how he will still love us. God's mercy and love are rather astounding, and humbling, when viewed this way. We don't deserve His love, given the way we have spurned Him, but He loves us anyway.
Lord, thank you for Your amazing love.
