Isaiah 17:10-11
10 For you have forgotten the God of your salvation and have not remembered the Rock of your refuge; therefore, though you plant pleasant plants and sow the vine-branch of a stranger, 11 though you make them grow on the day that you plant them, and make them blossom in the morning that you sow, yet the harvest will flee away in a day of grief and incurable pain.
Do you forget about God? It is one thing to know that there is a God, but often in the midst of our busy lives we ignore God and think we don't need God to accomplish our plans, so we essentially "forget" that He is there. But when we do this, we miss the most important thing in life, and God will often use pain and problems to get our attention. In these verses because they had "forgotten the God of your salvation and have not remembered the Rock of your refuge" (verse 10), God says that their "harvest will flee away" (verse 11), i.e. their plans will be thwarted. This is a scary thought, but it is often the way that God in His mercy gets our attention.
Lord, help me to remember You, the Rock of my refuge.
