Isaiah 5:20-21
20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight!
Unfortunately our culture has sometimes redefined morality in an attempt to rationalize current behavior. You can see this in the media; for example, how virginity is ridiculed compared to the promiscuous hero, or how speaking out against sexual immorality is declared "intolerant". These are examples of "those who call evil good and good evil" (verse 20). Just because we attempt to redefine morality doesn't mean that God also changes His definitions. We need to submit our opinions to God, lest His anger be kindled and we experience His "woe".
Lord, forgive me for making fun of your standards, and help me to obey Your standards of right and wrong.
