Psalm 27:4-5
4 One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. 5 For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.
What's important to you? What do you really want? If you could have any one wish, what would it be? That a beautiful person would fall in love with you? A lifetime of fun with playboy bunnies? Or that you would dwell in the house of the Lord? The latter is what we "should" desire, but is that what we spend our time and money on, or do we spend more time in pornography than in God's word? If someone were to just observe all our actions and not our words, what would they see us pursuing? The sad truth of our repeated back-sliding is that there is a part of us that really wants the sexual fantasy. True healing of our sexual brokenness will come not simply when we learn to say no to our sexual desires; rather it will happen when we learn to desire God more than sex, more than romance, more than relationships.
Heavenly Father, help me to seek You above all else.
