Psalm 51:6-9
6 Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart. 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken rejoice. 9 Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.
Our God is a God who finds "delight in truth" (verse 6), and He wants us to be truthful people. Secrecy breeds sin, transparency breeds godliness. When we're lost in fantasy, we are disconnected from truth. When we view people as sexual objects we are missing God's truth. When we lie and try to hide our behavior we are being false. In response, God calls us to honesty, honesty about who we are and honesty in our relationship to God and others.
Lord, help me to be honest, to be a person of truth and integrity.
