Song of Solomon 1:2-4
2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your love is better than wine; 3 your anointing oils are fragrant; your name is oil poured out; therefore virgins love you. 4 Draw me after you; let us run. The king has brought me into his chambers.
As someone who has struggled with sexual fantasy, it is tempting to just shut down one's sexuality as part of recovery. But that is not God's design. The Song of Solomon is an exuberant description of the joys of love and sexuality. Verse 2 speaks of the joys of kissing. This is not a message of frigidity, but a celebration of God's intent for marriage. Our problem is not that we are sexual beings, but that we misplace our sexual energy on others. Our kisses and our love should only be directed at our spouse. So if you are married, kiss your spouse (verse 2) and go away with them to your bedroom (verse 4).
Lord, I confess to sometimes being ashamed of my sexual desire. Thank You for my sexuality and the gift of marriage.
