2 Timothy 3:14-17
14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it 15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
I decided to do this study of Scripture because I thought it would help my own recovery to learn what the Bible says about sex, sin, and recovery. There is value in learning the scripture, for as these verses say, "all Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness" (verse 16). There is truth and life here, and as we learn these scriptures God can use them to speak truth into our lives (teaching), to reveal our sin (reproof), to correct our thinking (correction), and to show us how to live godly lives (training).
God, help me to learn from Your word.
