Habakkuk 2:2-4
2 And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. 3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay. 4 “Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him, but the righteous shall live by his faith.
This chapter is God's answer to Habakkuk's question about why there is injustice. God's answer is partly one of patience: "If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay" (verse 3). This is important for us to remember when we wonder why our healing is taking so long. God will accomplish His purposes in our lives, but in His time, which is often slower than we want. One of the effects of this slowness is that it requires us to live by faith (verse 4). We can't always see immediate results, so we need to have faith and trust that God is at work. That act of faith and trust is itself part of the healing, for it is developing the character of righteousness inside us.
Lord, help me to trust Your timing and be patient with my healing.
