Hebrews 4:12-13
12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
God knows everything about us. He sees everything we do, even the shameful, dark things that we try to keep secret. As verse 13 says, "all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account". Think about that for a moment. When we die we "must give account" to God of all our actions and thoughts, and we won't be able to hide anything from Him. This is a terrifying thought in many ways, yet we cannot avoid it. What we can do is try to live a life that is pleasing to Him, and that we are not ashamed of. And then thank God for His unconditional mercy in loving us despite our brokenness.
God, You see all and know all. You know what a sinful foolish creature I sometimes am. Yet you also love me. I find that hard to believe sometimes, but thank you for Your grace and love.
