Proverbs 28:13-14
13 Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. 14 Blessed is the one who fears the Lord always, but whoever hardens his heart will fall into calamity.
My natural reaction to a failure is to try and hide it. It is easy to be overwhelmed by shame, and thus we want to keep the sin a secret, lest we receive more shame from others. The problem is that this just keeps us stuck. If we pretend that we don't have a problem, how can we receive healing for that problem? How can God heal a hurt that we don't admit to having? But if we run to God rather than from God, if we confess our
faults, then He will be faithful to forgive and heal us.
Lord, I confess my transgressions.
