Psalm 9:15-16
15 The nations have sunk in the pit that they made; in the net that they hid, their own foot has been caught. 16 The Lord has made himself known; he has executed judgment; the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands.
One of the spiritual truths that impacts all of us is that we eventually reap what we sow. In our addicted, distorted thinking, we think that we are "getting away with something", but in reality we are just becoming more ensnared. It is a paradox that the more we try to be "sexually free", the more ensnared we can become by our sexual sin. Each time we repeat a sinful behavior, we are strengthening that pattern in us, and we become more tightly bound by the sin. It is only by submitting our will to God that we become truly free of the chains that bind us.
Lord, I submit to you, and ask for Your help in freeing me from the trap of my own sin.
